Whether you are with us just for a night on your roadtrip between Gauteng and the Western Cape, or if you're spending a few days in the village, our small hotel in the charming Karoo town of Richmond has many facilities and amenities to make your stay really comfortable. Whilst we don't claim to be a five-star luxury establishment, we do provide a supremely comfortable hotel designed with guest satisfaction in mind.
We have a large parking area directly off Richmond's main street, and once entering the doors from the parking area you will be greeted by our dramatic, high-ceilinged dining room. Here you are able to relax on couches or comfy armchairs, browsing the number of books we have available for our guests.
During winter, we also have our guest lounge available if you'd like to grab a glass of sherry and enjoy the warmth of our crackling fire while browsing the bookshelf of interesting novels, biographies or non-fiction.
Our breakfasts are becoming very well known, with all of our guests giving us rave reviews. We don't believe breakfast should be a casual affair - we deck our tables out in beautiful crockery, candle sticks and shimmering glasses each morning.
Enjoy a starter of a fresh fruit salad, along with our signature Vanilla & Cinnamon oatmeal, followed by your choice of a cooked breakfast off of our breakfast menu.
Included in the tariff is fruit juice, as well as a choice of teas or our special blend filter coffee. Please note that breakfasts and dinners are not included in our rates - make sure to indicate your requirements on our booking system.
All of our rooms are located on the first floor of the hotel, up a flight of stairs, and we have stairs coming into the main entrance of the hotel. Because of the age of our building, there is no elevator. We are thus probably not suited to guests with limited mobility, Please do bear this in mind when making a reservation.
We love children, but because of the wooden floors, stairs and other potential dangers to small humans, we have a "no children under 12" policy.
Our little hotel is owner managed, and we do not have a 24 hour reception. Our check in hours are from 14:00 until 22:00. If you need a later check in, please arrange with us and we will be happy to oblige where possible.
Unfortunately, we are not a pet friendly establishment. Our hotel mascot, Sir Knuckles of Richmond, a 1.2kg Yorkshire Terrier does not get along well with other pets...
